     Background to the Privacy Statement
    “The EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), effective from 25 May 2018, requires any organisation that collects and processes personal data to inform its members or clients about how that data is collected, processed, used and safeguarded. The GDPR defines personal data as "any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person ("data subject"); an identifiable natural person is one who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier such as a name, an identification number, location data, an online identifier or one or more factors specific to the physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural or social identity of that natural person."

    The Privacy Statement explains the legal basis, namely "legitimate interest", and our legal obligation to manage your data fairly, lawfully and transparently.
